Commercial Director (Transport)

What you will do

• Own the Transport FY30 strategic plan and deliver commercial profit and loss targets, including income, impairment, costs, and productivity metrics.
• Define and develop the Transport ecosystem, including propositions for light commercial vehicles, servicing, maintenance, repair, marketplaces, energy, insurance, and remarketing.
• Set trading volumes, pricing, residual values, and asset lifecycle strategies across consumer and corporate businesses.
• Implement securitisation, insurance, and risk-sharing arrangements with manufacturers to mitigate residual value and market risks.
• Lead vehicle purchasing, remarketing, sustainability, M&A, and new OEM partnership initiatives, including the development of agentic AI remarketing capabilities.
• Deputise for the MD of Transport across regulated entities and provide oversight of strategy, governance, financial performance, risk management, people, culture, technology, and data.

Requirements

• Executive-level commercial leadership experience in a complex environment.
• Experience working in a regulated environment, with knowledge of FCA and PRA engagement, corporate governance, compliance, and risk appetite.
• Large-scale leadership experience across multi-site teams, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders beyond direct reporting lines.
• Strong strategic planning, analytical, decision-making, communication, relationship-building, and performance management capabilities.
• Knowledge of motor finance, contract hire, or leasing profitability, cash flow, returns, regulation, and relevant economic and political factors is desirable.
• Ability to work from Manchester, Cardiff, or Watford with hybrid office attendance.
