Engineering Manager (Radar & Insights)

Location: Hybrid, Lisbon, Portugal

Salary: €74,000–€111,000 annual salary for Portugal-based hires, plus equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and grow an engineering team of approximately eight engineers working on hirify.global Radar, Speed Test, Internet measurement, analytics, and large-scale data systems.
• Own execution by setting priorities, improving delivery predictability, and providing engineers with context and autonomy.
• Improve the quality, reliability, usability, and operational health of data and insights products.
• Partner with Product Management and engineering teams to shape roadmaps, resolve dependencies, and close complex technical and product decisions.
• Develop technical leaders and create opportunities for engineers to lead architecture and implementation.
• Explore new products and business opportunities based on hirify.global’s unique view of Internet activity.

Requirements

• Experience leading and developing high-performing engineering teams and demonstrating team delivery and individual growth.
• Strong technical credibility with experienced engineers, including the ability to review designs and understand distributed-system and data-platform trade-offs.
• Experience managing teams across multiple related technical areas and creating clarity in ambiguous environments.
• Strong focus on reliability, quality, correctness, and data quality.
• Strong product judgment and experience partnering with Product Management on roadmap decisions.
• Clear communication skills, including direct feedback and explaining complex technical decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale data pipelines, analytics platforms, telemetry systems, or measurement infrastructure.
• Familiarity with HTTP, DNS, BGP, routing, Internet protocols, or network measurement.
• Experience with Internet-scale datasets and analytics or insights products.
• Familiarity with hirify.global Radar or Internet measurement research.
