What you will do

• Manage the global trade compliance program and lead the day-to-day operations of the International Trade Controls Office.
• Oversee export licenses, classifications, government authorizations, exemptions, recordkeeping, and automated compliance systems.
• Review projects, agreements, joint ventures, proposals, and international transactions for export control and sanctions risks.
• Provide trade compliance clearances, legal guidance, and support for customer, supplier, subcontractor, and partner agreements.
• Lead compliance training, audits, investigations, corrective actions, and regulatory reviews.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Business Development, Contracts, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Operations, customers, partners, and government agencies.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. state jurisdiction.
• 8–10 years of legal practice experience with extensive global trade compliance, U.S. export controls, economic sanctions, and foreign trade controls experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ITAR and EAR, with familiarity with Department of Energy and Nuclear Regulatory Commission export control requirements.
• Experience supporting Direct Commercial Sales and Foreign Military Sales programs and managing trade compliance programs.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, government contracting, or other highly regulated industries involving controlled technologies.
• Ability to satisfy pre-employment screening requirements and obtain and maintain required security clearances.

• Experience serving as an ITAR Empowered Official.
• Experience with multinational operations, foreign export control regimes, and automated export compliance or screening systems.
• Experience supporting public companies or major corporate transformations.
• Experience designing enterprise-wide compliance training and leading audits, investigations, and regulatory reviews.
