Senior Legal Counsel (Fintech)

What you will do

• Own and draft customer-facing legal documentation for the Italian market.
• Lead the legal work for new product launches, from regulatory analysis through final client-facing wording.
• Manage interactions with Banca d’Italia, regulators, external institutions, and authorities.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, partners, and suppliers.
• Select and manage external legal advisors and oversee their work.
• Handle complaints and contentious customer cases, including ABF/ACF proceedings, inheritance, garnishment, and insolvency matters.

Requirements

• Law degree.
• More than five years of experience, primarily in a top-tier Italian or international law firm focused on banking and financial regulation, or in-house at a bank or regulated fintech.
• Strong knowledge of Italian financial services regulation and familiarity with European frameworks such as MiFID II, PSD2, and CCD II.
• Exceptional legal research, drafting, prioritization, and independent decision-making skills.
• Full professional fluency in Italian and English.

• In-house experience at a bank or regulated fintech.
• Familiarity with MiFID II, PSD2, CCD II, transparency, and consumer protection requirements.
