Senior Legal Counsel (Fintech)

What you will do

• Provide corporate, financial services, securities, and derivatives law counsel to business units across multiple jurisdictions.
• Advise on licensing, regulatory approvals, horizon scanning, and regulatory changes affecting operations, systems, reporting, trading, and internal structures.
• Develop regulatory strategies and support worldwide legal compliance implementation projects.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements related to brokerage and trading activities.
• Research international financial regulations and provide legal input on new products, initiatives, and business strategies.
• Develop policies, manage legal risks, instruct external counsel, and provide updates, training, and presentations to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Qualified and licensed attorney with a degree from an accredited law school.
• Relevant experience with trading firms, brokerages, securities, and derivatives.
• Deep knowledge of international financial industry regulations and emerging-market legislation.
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation, legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing multiple projects and working effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to instruct and manage external legal counsel and junior lawyers.
