TL;DR
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer (VDI/Cloud): Managing and securing multi-cloud virtual desktop and thin-client environments across AWS, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Horizon with an accent on endpoint management, image lifecycle, and DISA STIG compliance. Focus on automating deployments with PowerShell, Bash, or Python, supporting ATO/CTO documentation, and maintaining secure virtual desktop infrastructure for U.S. national security missions.
Location: Dayton, OH; fully onsite at NASIC

What you will do
- Manage 10ZiG thin-client environments hosted in AWS, including configuration, firmware updates, security patches, certificates, and endpoint enrollment.
- Configure and support Azure Virtual Desktop, AWS WorkSpaces, and Horizon environments.
- Build and maintain virtual desktop images, user profiles, applications, host pools, and scaling configurations.
- Test VDI performance and compatibility, collect user feedback, and improve desktop environments.
- Apply DISA STIGs across virtual desktops, Active Directory, thin clients, and cloud resources while supporting continuous security monitoring.
- Prepare ATO and CTO evidence and maintain CONOPS, SOPs, and system architecture documentation.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance required.
- Experience administering at least one VDI platform: Azure Virtual Desktop, AWS WorkSpaces, or Horizon.
- Experience with 10ZiG Manager or an equivalent thin-client deployment console.
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for deployment, cloud scheduling, and user profile automation.
- Documented experience with DISA STIG checklists and CTO/ATO documentation in regulated enterprise environments.
- CompTIA Security+ or a globally recognized equivalent certification is mandatory.

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator.
- VMware VCP-DTM or Omnissa Horizon credentials.
