VDI Administrator (VMware)

What you will do

• Monitor and maintain VDI infrastructure, desktop pools, virtual machines, and endpoint devices.
• Troubleshoot user connectivity, logins, desktops, applications, peripherals, and access issues.
• Perform routine VMware, Horizon, Windows, endpoint, account, group membership, permission, and desktop entitlement administration.
• Assist with desktop image updates, software deployments, patches, configuration changes, system upgrades, and testing.
• Investigate alerts and performance issues, escalating complex problems to senior engineers.
• Maintain technical documentation and support records and participate in disaster-recovery exercises.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in IT systems administration, desktop support, virtualization, or infrastructure operations.
• Working knowledge of VMware vSphere/ESXi, virtual machines, Windows 10/11, and Windows Server.
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience troubleshooting desktop, network, application, and user-access issues; familiarity with PowerShell or Windows command-line tools.
• CompTIA Security+ certification and Top Secret Security Clearance.
• Ability to follow procedures, document work, escalate issues, and communicate effectively with customers.

Nice to have

• Experience with Omnissa/VMware Horizon, Horizon Client, Horizon Agent, virtual desktop pools, or 10ZiG thin/zero clients.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, virtual networking, VLANs, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting, VMware vCenter, Horizon Connection Servers, UAG, App Volumes, or Dynamic Environment Manager.
• Exposure to enterprise monitoring, ticketing, patching, backup, and configuration-management processes.
