Sr. Mechancial Design Engineer (Gaming)

Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan; full-time, 1-year contract.

What you will do

• Design, analyze, document, and test complex mechanical parts and assemblies for gaming products.
• Develop mechanical designs from product front end through product launch and successful high-volume mass production.
• Ensure designs meet quality, cost, schedule, reliability, regulatory, safety, manufacturability, and functionality goals.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to optimize designs for mass production.
• Resolve mechanical engineering issues and collaborate with worldwide functions during product development.
• Launch and debug plastic tooling development and qualification.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and development of high-volume consumer electronic products.
• Good knowledge of plastics, tooling, injection molding, assembly processes, cosmetic finishes, and defect analysis.
• Good 3D modeling and fluent prototyping skills.
• Advanced knowledge of DFMEA, DFMA, PSS, and tolerance analysis.
• Experience in the injection-molded plastic industry and related consumer electronic products.
• Good written and spoken English, including the ability to prepare presentation files.
• Creative, self-motivated, and proactive in taking initiative.

Nice to have

• CAE experience.
• Good knowledge of metal punch tool structure and design.
