Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer (Gaming)

Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan

Employment: Full time; 1-year contract

What you will do

• Design, analyze, document, and test complex mechanical parts and assemblies for gaming products.
• Develop mechanical designs from product front end through launch and successful mass production.
• Ensure designs meet quality, cost, schedule, reliability, manufacturability, functionality, regulatory, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to optimize designs for high-volume production.
• Resolve mechanical engineering issues and collaborate with worldwide product development functions.
• Launch and debug plastic tooling development and qualification.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing and developing high-volume consumer electronic products; fresh graduates are also considered for the 1-year contract.
• Knowledge of plastics, tooling, injection molding, assembly processes, cosmetic finishes, and defect analysis.
• Strong 3D modeling, prototyping, and mechanical design skills.
• Advanced knowledge of DFMEA, DFMA, PSS, and tolerance analysis.
• Good written and spoken English, including the ability to create presentation materials.
• Creative, self-motivated, and proactive approach to work.

Nice to have

• CAE experience.
• Knowledge of metal punch tool structure and design.
• Experience in the injection-molded plastics industry and related consumer electronics.
