What you will do

• Diagnose mechatronics issues in precision stages, handlers, and linear motors for mature product lines (PAS5500, YieldStar, RH, XT).
• Analyze motion behavior using frequency response (Bode/FFT/PSD) to identify structural dynamics and control interactions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on servo tuning (PID/Gain/Feedforward) and sensor-actuator integration.
• Partner with Development & Engineering to propose and validate structural solutions and permanent fixes.
• Drive improvements in yield, robustness, and MTBF through DOE and performance trending.
• Enhance diagnostic procedures and mentor junior engineers in mechatronics troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in motion control systems, servo dynamics, or precision automation equipment.
• Strong understanding of servo control, mechanical dynamics, and PVA analysis.
• Ability to interpret Bode/FFT/PSD results to relate findings to structural interactions.
• Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and electrical/control schematics.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor equipment, robotics, or metrology platforms.
• Familiarity with real-time control systems (PLC, EtherCAT).
• Knowledge of RCA methodologies (5 Why, Ishikawa, FMEA) and ECN processes.
• Ability to analyze diagnostic data using MATLAB or Python.
