Mechanical Safety Engineer

What you will do

• Support the Design Authority in keeping critical infrastructure safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
• Assess, substantiate, and monitor the ongoing performance of mechanical infrastructure systems.
• Contribute to safety reviews, engineering assessments, and the continued operation of critical facilities.
• Carry out Periodic Safety Reviews and related engineering assurance activities.
• Apply British and international engineering standards to assess compliance and support engineering decisions.

Requirements

• Broad mechanical engineering experience in industrial, infrastructure, defence, energy, nuclear, or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience in mechanical design, maintenance, installation, or engineering assurance.
• Strong understanding of design intent, asset integrity, ageing mechanisms, and engineering substantiation.
• Experience with systems such as pumps and fluid systems, cranes and lifting equipment, HVAC, pressure systems, or diesel generators.
• SC Clearance and compliance with UK residency and nationality restrictions are required.
