Mechanical Engineer (Chemical Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Identify and implement plant reliability and maintenance improvements to prevent failures and optimize performance.
• Drive continuous improvement using KPIs to improve efficiency, planning, and work quality.
• Own preventive and condition-based maintenance activities, including vibration analysis and oil sampling.
• Provide technical support and coaching to technicians, contractors, and the maintenance team.
• Manage technical documentation, mechanical spare parts, pressure systems compliance, and statutory inspections.
• Support fault diagnosis, Management of Change processes, HAZOP studies, equipment trials, capital projects, and commissioning.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in a chemical, COMAH, or complex manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical asset integrity and reliability engineering principles.
• Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP or Maximo.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and condition monitoring techniques.
• Experience working in safety-critical and hazardous process environments.

Nice to have

• Exposure to ATEX environments.
• Chartered status or progress toward IMechE accreditation.
