Responsible Mechanical Engineer (Chemical Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Act as the mechanical authority for the Wilton production site and ensure pressure systems comply with legal, company, and industry standards.
• Define maintenance strategies and routines for mechanical equipment, balancing plant integrity, reliability, and cost.
• Serve as Design Authority for mechanical CAPEX and site projects, guiding project and reliability teams.
• Develop work scopes, specifications, and worklists for major overhauls and shutdowns.
• Maintain technical data, asset life plans, spares strategies, and inventory plans.
• Provide functional leadership to engineering, maintenance, and contractor resources while managing engineering and maintenance budget elements.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent extensive hands-on industrial engineering experience.
• Typically 15+ years of experience in chemical, petrochemical, or COMAH-regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, rotating machinery, pressure systems, Fitness for Service assessments, and defect management.
• Experience applying maintenance and reliability engineering best practices.
• Proven experience with SAP or similar maintenance systems and contributions to CAPEX, site improvement, and plant reliability initiatives.
• Membership or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional engineering body.
