QC Technologist (Food Manufacturing)

Location: Johannesburg, South Africa; based at the Gauteng branch

What you will do

• Monitor product quality and food safety throughout the manufacturing process.
• Monitor critical control points and verify compliance with GMP, SQF, food safety, and product quality standards.
• Perform sanitation verification, allergen testing, product inspections, and QC analyses on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
• Maintain sampling plans, laboratory retention samples, quality records, and documentation.
• Participate in internal, GMP, and process verification audits.
• Educate employees on food safety and SQF standards and ensure compliance with food and worker safety practices.

Requirements

• Matric plus a degree or National Diploma in Food Technology or a relevant qualification.
• 1–2 years of proven QC experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Proven analytical skills and experience.
• Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• English is required, including the ability to read and write.
• Creative, innovative, service-oriented, trustworthy, open to feedback, and willing to learn.
