Senior Hoist Technician (Electrical and Mechanical Hoist Systems): Maintaining and improving mine winders and chairlifts with an accent on safety, statutory examinations, electrical controls, hydraulics, and mechanical systems. Focus on performing dynamic brake tests, troubleshooting PLC and DC drive systems, managing breakdowns, and updating technical drawings.
Location: Amandelbult Complex, Thabazimbi, Limpopo, South Africa; onsite, full-time role.

What you will do
- Maximize the safe operation and availability of mine winders and chairlifts.
- Oversee electrical and mechanical maintenance of winder and chairlift machinery.
- Perform statutory winder examinations, dynamic brake tests, audits, and required adjustments.
- Support engineering teams during breakdowns, repairs, installations, and daily maintenance activities.
- Maintain and update electrical and hydraulic drawings, including modifications and standardization using AutoCAD.
- Train engineering personnel in safe operation, fault finding, and maintenance of control units, winders, and chairlifts.
Requirements
- Electrical Trade qualification with MV certification.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Hoist Technician and 4 years as a Winder Electrician.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, power electronics, hydraulics, and mechanics.
- Extensive PLC and programming knowledge, including CodeSys, TwinCAT, P80i, and Schneider.
- Experience with Gefran DC drives and analogue data acquisition.
- 08 driver's license; N6 qualification is advantageous.
