Cost Engineer (Gas Turbines)

What you will do

• Lead Cost and Value Engineering initiatives for machined parts across small, medium, and aero-derivative gas turbines.
• Build should-cost models and cost transparency using tools such as Teamcenter Product Cost Management, aPriori, Machine Learning Price Prediction, and Cost Breakdown.
• Analyse components and challenge supplier quotations to support negotiations, supplier selection, sourcing decisions, and Sourcing Boards.
• Support target costing and Design-to-Cost activities by defining achievable cost targets based on customer requirements, technical capability, and manufacturing considerations.
• Identify cost-out opportunities through cross-functional workshops, design-for-manufacturing activities, innovation, and manufacturing efficiency improvements.
• Present cost analysis, recommendations, and savings opportunities to stakeholders and senior leadership within the global Cost and Value Engineering network.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering preferred, or equivalent practical experience in Cost Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong experience with should-costing, cost modelling, or Cost and Value Engineering, including identifying manufacturing cost drivers.
• Knowledge of machining, turning, forging, casting, fabrication, coating, welding, or additive manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including confidence working cross-functionally and engaging with external suppliers.
• Fluent English required; flexibility to travel to suppliers and production facilities when necessary.

Nice to have

• Experience with Teamcenter Product Cost Management, aPriori, NX, or similar engineering and cost-modelling tools.
• Experience supporting supplier negotiations, sourcing activities, or project management.
