Senior Manager Cost Optimization - Building System (Construction Focus) (All Genders)

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid work with regular in-person office collaboration and business travel between sites

What you will do

• Develop and implement the Building Systems Cost Optimization strategy across the product portfolio.
• Apply design-to-cost, should-cost, value engineering, and target-costing methods across product development, manufacturing, procurement, and construction.
• Identify, analyze, and prioritize savings opportunities for building systems, components, materials, and construction interfaces.
• Develop transparent cost models and benchmarks, and compare estimated costs with actual performance.
• Drive cross-functional cost optimization initiatives and support implementation of improvement measures.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Construction, and R&D teams.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in cost engineering, value engineering, construction cost management, design optimization, or technical project delivery within construction.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, contractor interfaces, and project cost drivers.
• Demonstrated delivery of measurable cost reductions and business impact through cross-functional initiatives.
• Analytical ability to translate technical solutions into financial outcomes.
• Fluent English is required.
• Regular business travel between company sites is expected.

Nice to have

• Experience with industrialized construction, modular building systems, prefabrication, or high-volume manufacturing.
• Knowledge of timber construction, German-speaking construction markets, or digital costing tools.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
• Fluent German.
