Mid Software Engineer (Java/Python)

Location: 100% onsite in Colorado Springs, Colorado, or Beavercreek, Ohio

Salary: $92,700–$139,000 annually in Colorado Springs or $88,200–$132,300 annually in Beavercreek, Ohio

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain software for high-velocity data stream processing systems.
• Implement features and enhancements from requirements through delivery.
• Build reliable, performant data processing and integration solutions supporting XML, Protocol Buffers, and other message formats.
• Develop unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and maintain coding standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams using Agile and DevOps practices.
• Troubleshoot development and production issues, create prototypes, contribute to architecture discussions, and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. Government Top Secret / SCI security clearance are required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of professional software development experience across the full software development lifecycle.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Java, Python, or another object-oriented programming language.
• Experience building systems focused on throughput, reliability, and availability.
• Experience with version control, collaboration tools, and modern software engineering practices.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD-6016 and MIL-STD-3011.
• Test-driven development, Agile development, or Security+ certification.
• Curiosity, adaptability, and strong problem-solving skills.
