Software Developer II (Kubernetes and Integration Specialist) (Kubernetes)

Location: Remote work allowed 100%; must be local to Northern Virginia and available to travel approximately 10% to facilities in Manassas and Chantilly.

Salary: $69,184.83–$166,250.12 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and integrate software solutions into customer hardware and larger naval systems.
• Develop containerized applications and lead Kubernetes deployment and orchestration efforts.
• Integrate custom-developed software into customer enterprise hardware environments.
• Collaborate with equipment designers, hardware engineers, systems analysts, and a small agile engineering team.
• Document software changes, improve maintainability, and support deployment and operational troubleshooting.
• Monitor software installations and troubleshoot system components.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 2–4 years of experience; a master’s degree with 0–2 years or 8–10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree may also qualify.
• End-to-end software development experience, including requirements analysis, programming, testing, and systems integration.
• Practical Kubernetes and Docker experience, with a strong understanding of containerized environments, microservices, and orchestration.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, Java, or Go.
• Must be local to Northern Virginia and available for approximately 10% travel to Manassas and Chantilly facilities.
• Active Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance required.

Nice to have

• Experience with REST APIs, system integration, and software communication protocols.
• Familiarity with composable and disaggregated infrastructure.
