Staff Backend Software Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement robust API services for the European customer base.
• Lead architecture design and contribute to product roadmap creation.
• Scale platform capabilities across clients, regions, and geographies.
• Build resilient, multi-region solutions that improve system performance and user experience.
• Analyse complex ecosystem requirements, troubleshoot issues across the application stack, and drive technical change.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to code reviews and technical designs, and collaborate with product managers and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Extensive professional software development experience, including backend service development.
• Expert knowledge of software design patterns, API design, and the software development lifecycle.
• Experience influencing technical direction and contributing to the architecture of complex distributed systems.
• Understanding of REST, service-based architecture, and distributed systems.
• Professional experience building services with Java, SQL, and AWS.
• Existing UK work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Interest or experience in finance or wealth management.
