Senior Backend Engineer (Node)

Location: Onsite at the headquarters in Downtown Dallas, Texas, United States. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the U.S. and remain authorized in the future; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Build robust backend services and APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Own selected roadmap features across design, development, testing, release, and post-release support.
• Work with internal users to provide support, gather feedback, and plan platform improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote maintainable code standards through TDD and automated testing.
• Handle on-call incidents and contribute to postmortem analysis and remediation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, or other backend engineering frameworks.
• 4+ years of industry experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including database design and SQL.
• Experience mentoring junior developers.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
• 2+ years of experience with CI/CD tools and owning the release process.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and monitoring on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or AWS SQS for asynchronous processing and inter-service communication.
• Understanding of frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience profiling and load testing distributed systems to resolve performance bottlenecks.
