Senior Java Application Developer (Fintech)

Base salary: $175,000–$220,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Analyze, design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise software applications and components.
• Lead system enhancements, refactoring, and modernization initiatives across complex applications.
• Monitor and improve system performance, tuning, scalability, and configuration.
• Design and support large-scale, high-availability distributed systems using service-oriented and microservices architectures.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites while promoting engineering and quality practices.
• Contribute to architecture and technical decisions, estimate delivery effort, identify risks, and mentor associate and mid-level developers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 9+ years of hands-on application development experience with strong Java expertise in distributed systems.
• Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, backend development, SQL, and relational databases.
• Experience with cloud computing, service-oriented architecture, microservices, test-driven development, and domain-driven design.
• Ability to design and troubleshoot large-scale, high-availability systems and manage multiple initiatives effectively.
• Must be legally authorized to work full-time in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with performance-critical and highly scalable systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Established work history or equivalent experience, training, military service, or education.
