Senior Java Developer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Senior Java Developer (Fintech): Building and maintaining enterprise backend applications for fixed income, trading, risk, and other financial services areas with an accent on Java, Spring Boot, distributed applications, and production stability. Focus on designing scalable systems, solving concurrency and integration challenges, and taking ownership of application delivery across the full SDLC.

Location: New York City, hybrid with at least 4 days onsite per week. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible Canadian and Mexican citizens under treaty-based TN visas; other visa types, including H-1B, are not supported or transferable.

Salary: USD $120,000–$160,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Contribute across the full SDLC, including testing, code reviews, releases, and production support.
• Perform system design, technical analysis, and proof-of-concept development.
• Own application delivery, stability, monitoring, upgrades, and technical improvements.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technology teams, and local and offshore Agile teams.
• Mentor junior developers when needed.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
• 5+ years of Spring and Spring Boot experience.
• Strong knowledge of Core Java, concurrency, collections, and exception handling.
• Experience with REST APIs, distributed applications, messaging systems such as ActiveMQ or Kafka, and SQL.
• Experience with Git, Maven, and CI/CD.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or Quantitative Finance, plus strong communication skills.

Nice to have

• Angular experience.
• Azure and OpenShift or container experience.
• Financial Markets or Fixed Income knowledge.
