Director of Business Development (Manufacturing & Logistics)

Location: Tampa, Florida, United States. Onsite role requiring presence in the office every day and visits to local businesses each week; remote candidates will not be considered.

hirify.global is a technology startup operating an online marketplace that connects manufacturing and distribution businesses with on-demand workers to address variable production and labor needs.

What you will do

• Build and cultivate strategic accounts and partnerships with manufacturing, operations, warehouse, and distribution leaders through site visits, consultations, and presentations.
• Drive business development, account retention, brand awareness, and revenue growth in the Tampa market.
• Create client onboarding roadmaps, establish success benchmarks, and communicate the value of hirify.global’s platform.
• Develop target lists and manage outreach through cold calls, email campaigns, social media, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, HubSpot, and other tools.
• Monitor business development and operational metrics, conduct market research, and provide product-market fit feedback to product management.
• Collaborate with regional teams and coach and mentor a small team of Business Development Associates.

Requirements

• Direct experience working in or advising logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing industries.
• At least 2 years of post-university workforce experience or 5 years of work experience.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to explain complex problems in direct and plain language.
• Detail orientation and the ability to break complex problems down using data.
• Collaborative, broad-thinking approach and willingness to work cross-functionally to drive growth.
• Demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience, self-starting behavior, industriousness, and a track record of achieving or exceeding goals.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in the office every day and visit local businesses each week, with business visits taking less than 25% of the time.
• Passion for hirify.global’s offerings, vision, and mission; eagerness to learn; coachability; and a demonstrated mastery of something such as sport or music.
• Must not have worked at or studied processes of a FAANG or other Silicon Valley-based company.

Nice to have

• Experience working with diverse functional teams, including operations, finance, supply chain, and engineering.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training or certification.
• Experience interacting with customers, external suppliers, vendors, or stakeholders.
• Evidence of promotion with increased or new responsibility within the same company.
• Experience leading a direct or indirect team.
• Foundational experience in food service or retail operations; studies in operations, supply chain, manufacturing, or industrial engineering; engineering internships or early-career roles; process improvement; supply chain and operations; operations project management; or supply chain and manufacturing consulting.
