Senior Ocean Operations Specialist — Bookings & Capacity

What you will do

• Act as the primary customer contact from booking through delivery, managing confirmations, milestones, changes, and exceptions.
• Place and manage carrier bookings against allocated capacity, meet cut-offs, and escalate rollovers.
• Track capacity usage versus carrier and lane commitments, identifying gaps and surpluses and maintaining the forward view.
• Prepare quotations using rate cards, including base rates, surcharges, validity, and agreed turnaround times.
• Coordinate origin teams, carriers, customs, warehouses, and inland transport for the port-to-distribution-centre leg.
• Maintain complete and accurate shipment files, milestones, and costs to support correct billing and margin visibility.

Requirements

• Experience in ocean operations, bookings, carrier coordination, or freight forwarding.
• Ability to manage carrier allocations, booking cycles, cut-offs, rollovers, and shipment milestones.
• Ability to coordinate documentation, customs, dangerous-goods checks, and reefer requirements where applicable.
• Strong attention to detail in shipment records, costs, billing data, and operational follow-up.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced logistics environment with ownership of customer outcomes.
