Ocean Planning Associate

What you will do

• Plan and book end-to-end ocean freight shipments and origin intermodal movements within regional export networks.
• Manage carrier allocations, sailing schedules, bookable inventory, and pre-booking plans to support timely departures.
• Coordinate daily operations with Account Management, Ocean Execution, Procurement, Allocation, terminals, trucking providers, and ocean carriers.
• Resolve booking exceptions, escalate operational issues, and ensure shipments meet internal OKRs and SLAs.
• Monitor carrier performance, including schedule integrity, equipment availability, rollovers, space release, and service quality.
• Support carrier onboarding and contribute to improvements in FFA, Ocean Product, and carrier integrations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 2 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, ocean carrier operations, or consulting.
• Process-oriented and structured approach with strong problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and inbox-management skills.
• Client-service mindset and ability to challenge existing processes and implement improvements.
• Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including occasional weekends or night shifts in certain locations.
