SCUK Regulatory Legal Counsel (12 Month FTC)

Location: Redhill, Surrey, United Kingdom; hybrid role with at least 3 days per week in the Redhill office. Remote workers will not be considered.

Salary: circa £80,000 per year, dependent on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Provide legal, regulatory, and corporate governance advice across the business.
• Review laws and regulations, conduct horizon scanning, and support timely implementation of regulatory changes.
• Draft and review commercial contracts, procurement documents, supplier agreements, and intermediary arrangements.
• Support legal projects, business initiatives, and programmes by reviewing requirements and providing legal recommendations.
• Manage legal risks under SCUK policies and the hirify.global UK group risk framework.
• Support governance activities, including policies, procedures, committee terms of reference, documents, and minutes.

Requirements

• UK-qualified lawyer with substantial experience in an in-house legal department of a large organisation or in a law firm.
• Experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, including procurement, supplier, and intermediary agreements.
• Experience advising on GDPR, competition, anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, and money laundering regulations.
• Knowledge or experience in digital and ecommerce legal and regulatory matters.
• Strong analytical, evaluation, report-writing, verbal, written, relationship-building, and IT skills.
• Immediate availability with no notice period is required.
