Legal Counsel - Employment Law & Labour Relations (Fintech): Advising Klarna on employment law, labour relations, employee matters, and employment documentation across the UK, EU, and North America with an accent on cross-border legal analysis and jurisdiction-specific policies. Focus on managing individual cases, advising employee representatives and unions, and supporting business projects with employment law considerations.

Location: London, United Kingdom; UK-based with office attendance 2–3 days per week

Salary: £82,076–£91,925 per year

What you will do

  • Advise the business on employment law and labour relations matters across jurisdictions where Klarna employs people, primarily in the EU, UK, and North America.
  • Draft, review, and adapt employment documentation and policies to meet local legal requirements.
  • Manage individual employee matters throughout the employment lifecycle.
  • Manage relationships with employee representatives and unions.
  • Support business projects requiring employment law analysis and advice.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience practicing employment law.
  • Qualification or equivalent experience in UK employment law.
  • Experience with cross-border and global aspects of employment law.
  • Ability to manage an independent caseload and make sound legal judgments.
  • Ability to work from the UK and attend the office 2–3 days per week.
  • CV submitted in English.

Nice to have

  • Employment law experience in more than one jurisdiction.
  • In-house or law-firm secondment experience.
  • US employment law experience alongside UK employment law.
  • Background at a larger law firm.
  • Experience in a fast-moving fintech or technology company with a lean HR function.
