Sr. Industrial Designer (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, CA; Denver, CO; Washington, DC; or remote within the United States. Remote candidates must be located in the US.

Base salary: $145,000–$280,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design a family of hardware products from initial concepts through production.
• Create sketches, CAD models, prototypes, refinements, and detailed production designs.
• Resolve packaging, thermal, structural, and harness-routing constraints with hardware engineering.
• Build and evaluate physical prototypes quickly through printing and mockups.
• Produce renders, animations, and technical drawings for executives, customers, and manufacturing partners.
• Apply strong artistic direction and industrial design craft across space hardware.

Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating hardware design work, including sketches, development stages, and final outcomes.
• Strong surfacing and CAD skills, with the ability to work from and back into engineering CAD.
• Practical knowledge of machining, sheet metal, additive manufacturing, molding, coatings, and finishes.
• Experience designing for real-world manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work hands-on, take ownership of design problems, and move quickly in a lean team.
• Must be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required US export authorizations under ITAR.

Nice to have

• Experience in consumer, automotive, aerospace, robotics, medical, or industrial equipment design.
• Active security clearance.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Blender, or Cinema 4D.
