Sr. Industrial Designer (Consumer Products)

Location: New York, NY, USA; hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite Tuesday through Thursday and remote work available on Mondays and Fridays.

Salary: $100,000–$110,000 annually in New York City, plus bonus.

What you will do

• Design and develop new consumer products from concept through commercialization.
• Assess ergonomics, user logic, interaction, aesthetics, color, and design language.
• Use consumer insights and rigorous user testing to identify and solve end-user problems.
• Design within manufacturing and cost constraints, aligning with engineering and business units throughout development.
• Lead design activities through process gates, project schedules, stakeholder reviews, and approval processes.
• Maintain visual brand language across Hydro Flask and OXO while mentoring junior designers and presenting work to leadership and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial design.
• At least 6 years of experience in industrial design and consumer product development.
• High proficiency in SolidWorks, Adobe Creative Suite, KeyShot, and PowerPoint; Photoshop and Illustrator are required.
• Track record of leading consumer products from concept through commercialization.
• Strong understanding of injection molding and plastics manufacturing processes.
• Authorized to work full-time in the United States; able to travel domestically up to 10%. A sample portfolio showing primary-designer work on consumer products is required.
