Systems Administrator (UNIX/Linux)

Location: Office-based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; five days per week onsite. The role includes a scheduled on-call rotation for critical services. Toronto, Ontario is also listed under conditions.

What you will do

• Build, configure, support, and maintain enterprise UNIX/Linux infrastructure hosting critical business applications and services.
• Provide Tier 3 escalation support, troubleshoot complex operating system and infrastructure issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Manage server lifecycles, including provisioning, patching, upgrades, and configuration changes.
• Participate in scheduled on-call support and restore services during incidents and disruptions.
• Develop automation solutions and operational playbooks using Ansible and AWX.
• Collaborate with application teams, internal customers, vendors, and technical teams on infrastructure projects and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise UNIX/Linux environments in production.
• Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 7 through 10.
• Experience with AWX, Ansible, scripting, automation, and process improvement.
• Experience with VMware ESX 7 or later and Red Hat OpenShift environments.
• Experience working in ITIL/ITSM-based operational environments with strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work onsite in the Calgary office five days per week and participate in scheduled after-hours on-call rotations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Red Hat Satellite 6, Oracle Solaris, HP-UX, and Red Hat Identity Management.
• Knowledge of storage, database, and Microsoft Active Directory technologies.
• Experience contributing to automation, operational improvement, or continuous improvement programs.
