Senior Software Engineer - FDE - Security Check (SC) Clearance (AI)

Location: Remote from the United Kingdom, with conditions listed as London, UK; travel of up to 25% may be required.

Salary: £74,700–£122,600 per year.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and operate secure, reliable, and scalable production software and services.
• Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to define requirements, success metrics, and technical designs.
• Deliver customer solutions end to end by prototyping quickly, incorporating feedback, and meeting quality and performance goals.
• Drive engineering practices including code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and documentation.
• Build reusable components, reference implementations, and engineering patterns for use across teams and engagements.
• Lead technical workstreams, align stakeholders, and drive execution through delivery.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance issued by the United Kingdom Security Vetting Unit.
• Must meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field plus technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
• Coding experience in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience partnering directly with customers or internal stakeholders to deliver solutions end to end.
• Experience with secure software design and Microsoft security and compliance requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience designing, deploying, and operating AI or LLM-based solutions, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented approaches, model tuning, evaluation, data quality, and performance monitoring.
• Experience deploying and operating AI systems in production.
• Experience with cloud AI platforms such as Azure ML or OpenAI.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Comfort with travel of up to 25%.
