Senior Systems Engineer, Algorithm Development - Effectors (Radar)

Location: Full-time onsite work at the office in Hawthorne, California, United States

Salary: $160,000–$250,000 annual base compensation, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and develop radar signal-processing algorithms for target detection, tracking, and classification.
• Optimize algorithms for real-time performance and constrained computing resources.
• Implement algorithms in C++, Python, MATLAB, FPGA/DSP hardware, and related platforms.
• Analyze radar data, build system and subsystem simulations, and evaluate performance.
• Contribute to system requirements, specifications, technical documentation, and presentations.
• Participate in field testing and data-collection activities with multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of relevant airborne radar systems development experience.
• Strong knowledge of radar principles, waveform design, matched filtering, Doppler processing, and clutter rejection.
• Strong understanding of AESA design, antenna capabilities, and beamforming.
• Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or C++.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• Expertise implementing radar algorithms in VHDL or Verilog firmware.
• Expertise implementing radar algorithms on GPUs.
