Substation Construction Senior Supervisor (Electrical)

Location: Alhambra, California, US; hybrid work mode with required work and residence in California. The position requires up to 50% travel and field work throughout the SCE service territory. Relocation does not apply.

Salary: $163,000–$244,400 per year

What you will do

• Supervise an electrical crew of 10–16 craft employees performing substation construction and maintenance.
• Coordinate schedules, outages, resources, equipment, and workflows across concurrent substation projects.
• Review engineering prints, define project scope, and prepare detailed construction plans.
• Conduct job walks, constructability reviews, inspections, and project updates while correcting operational issues.
• Provide technical support, training, performance feedback, and employee development.
• Support safety, operational excellence, cybersecurity asset protection, and compliance with the IBEW Local 47 Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requirements

• Four or more years of experience performing or supervising electric utility substation or substation utility construction.
• Valid Class C Driver's License.
• Experience with substation electrical construction and wiring, inspections, specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of safe construction and maintenance methods, environmental compliance, tools, and equipment.
• Experience working with bargaining unit employees, union agreements, labor relations, and diversity issues.
• Must work and reside in California; the role is hybrid and requires up to 50% travel across the SCE service territory.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience in substation design, operation, construction accounting, or work order completion.
• Knowledge of ECS standards, the Substation Operations Manual, the IBEW agreement, and Accident Prevention Manual safety rules.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project.
