Supervisor, Substation Operations (Shifts Required)

Location: Dorchester, Massachusetts, United States. Onsite field and office work with shifts, weekends, rotational off-hour on-call coverage, emergency restoration assignments, and travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire.

Annual salary: $126,820–$140,910, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Supervise crews performing construction and maintenance activities for transmission and distribution substations.
• Coordinate staffing, materials, equipment, schedules, and work methods with maintenance, engineering, communications, control centers, and contractors.
• Maintain the reliability and condition of substation assets through operational oversight and maintenance planning.
• Analyze inspection, maintenance, testing, and operational data and ensure accurate entry into company systems.
• Manage employee performance, apply local union agreements, and resolve grievances and concerns.
• Lead safety compliance, customer-focused issue resolution, emergency restoration, and outage response activities.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of safe construction, operation, and maintenance practices for electric transmission and distribution facilities at secondary and primary operating voltages.
• Detailed knowledge of power system maintenance and operation.
• Strong computer, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
• Five or more years of experience; substation operations and maintenance experience is preferred, and previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license required. Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring sponsorship to begin employment will not be considered.
