Substation Group Leader (Electrical Engineering)

What you will do

• Develop project plans, scopes of work, preliminary designs, proposals, estimates, specifications, studies, material lists, and other deliverables for complex substation engineering and EPC projects.
• Manage project execution, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, vendors, consultants, and contractors.
• Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and designers.
• Track and stabilize projects, resolve obstacles, maintain QA/QC standards, and ensure client goals are achieved.
• Attend client meetings, communicate project concerns and changes, and support client relationship growth.
• Develop and review substation equipment and structure layouts, foundation plans, section and elevation views, conduit plans, and grounding plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 10+ years of direct substation physical and electrical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineering license in any state and the ability to obtain additional state licenses.
• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD, plus proficiency with Windows-based software including Word and Excel.
• Ability to learn new design software and collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, and drafters in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, attention-to-detail, and work-product quality skills.
