Principal Mechanical Engineer, Advanced Test & Equipment (Automation)

Location: Shenzhen Nanshan Office, Shenzhen, China; onsite

What you will do

• Develop precision testing units and automation testing equipment mechanically.
• Create development plans, detailed designs, 3D/2D drawings, bills of materials, assembly manuals, and buy-off documentation.
• Select standard parts and perform tolerance analysis, design reviews, and DFM evaluations covering function, cost, and schedule.
• Coordinate with vendors to deliver precisely manufactured parts on time.
• Assemble, debug, evaluate, qualify, and improve prototypes and equipment.
• Investigate product failures, identify root causes, and collaborate with global and local engineering teams on new product and equipment development.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Experience with mechanical design, TSA, heat treatment, materials, molding, machining, FMEA, mechanical vibration, and SolidWorks.
• Ability to work with mechanical simulation, testing, electrical, servo, software, and firmware teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, independence, flexibility, teamwork, and a sense of urgency.
• Ability to support new product and equipment ramp-up at overseas locations.

Nice to have

• Experience in system development, new product development, automation development, vision systems, or data analysis.
• Workshop experience.
• Photography skills and basic artistic ability.
