Summer 2027 Supply Chain Buyer Intern- Bachelor's (Gloucester, MA)

Location: Gloucester, MA, United States. Relocation eligible. Candidates must have valid work authorization for the full internship period; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Salary: Based on location, hire grade, knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity; additional compensation may include a bonus and stock award program where applicable.

What you will do

• Support Supplier Account Managers, Procurement and Materials Managers, and Supply Chain Analytics during a 12-week summer internship.
• Complete supplier request-for-quotation activities and prepare supplier profiles, meetings, presentations, business reviews, and capacity reviews.
• Perform buyer functions by creating, rescheduling, and cancelling purchase orders according to MRP requirements.
• Track and expedite material deliveries, provide updates to factory stakeholders and leadership, and resolve purchase order invoice and receipt discrepancies.
• Identify alternate or emergency material sources and negotiate with suppliers to mitigate excess purchase orders and inventory.
• Perform part, MRP, and spend analytics to improve commodity assignment and business practices.

Requirements

• Must have valid work authorization for the duration of the internship; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related major.
• Good academic standing; a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale is preferred.
• Creative and analytical problem-solving ability, with a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
• Excellent listening, writing, quantitative, qualitative, and oral communication skills.
• Data analytics skills, including advanced Excel and working with multiple datasets; continuous learning and adaptability.
