Director, Revenue Accounting

Location: Tysons Corner, Virginia, United States

Salary: $173,000–$328,800 base salary per year, with potential bonus programs, sales incentives, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the global revenue recognition function and provide strategic and technical accounting guidance for complex arrangements.
• Partner with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, Finance, and executive leadership on contract negotiations, non-standard terms, and revenue outcomes.
• Oversee accounting analysis for global software, SaaS, services, and multi-element arrangements.
• Own global revenue recognition policies under ASC 606 and lead research on complex technical accounting matters.
• Direct quarterly and annual revenue close activities, auditor relationships, disclosures, and revenue analytics.
• Build scalable processes and controls, guide revenue systems enhancements, and manage a global revenue recognition team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA certification.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and leadership roles.
• Deep expertise in software and SaaS revenue recognition, ASC 606, complex licensing, services, and multi-element arrangements.
• Experience leading revenue recognition in a global, high-growth technology environment.
• Experience managing and developing accounting teams and working directly with external auditors.
• Strong executive communication, analytical, documentation, problem-solving, and cross-functional influence skills.
