Staff Software Engineer (Aerospace Manufacturing)

hirify.global is an aerospace startup that designs, builds, operates, and sells stratospheric balloon systems for wildfire monitoring, urban mapping, and government applications.

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, and operate a full-stack MRP system supporting inventory, work orders, bills of materials, quality holds, and serialized parts.
• Translate manufacturing, logistics, quality, and finance workflows into practical software for shop-floor operators.
• Build operator interfaces with tablet touch targets, barcode scanner integration, and drag-and-drop work instructions.
• Own systems end-to-end across backend, frontend, and infrastructure, from design through production and long-term maintenance.
• Lead projects, make architectural decisions, participate in deployments and debugging, and improve reliability, observability, and operational workflows.
• Use AI tools daily for implementation, debugging, refactoring, codebase exploration, and production development while maintaining accountability for code quality.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in system design, data structures, architecture, data modeling, schema design, and SQL.
• Experience building and operating backend systems at scale and owning production systems in rapidly evolving environments.
• Comfort with cloud infrastructure and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong communication skills, adaptability, and ability to collaborate directly with non-engineering stakeholders.
• Ability to work across the full stack and learn complex manufacturing domains and evolving systems quickly.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Vite, and Mantine UI.
• Experience with tRPC, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and raw SQL migrations.
• Experience with Playwright, AWS, Terraform, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience mentoring engineers and improving technical quality.
