Principal Product Designer (AI)

Location: Americas Remote

Salary: $245,000–$276,000 USD per year, depending on experience and subject to market-rate adjustment.

What you will do

• Shape and communicate the product-wide design vision and influence product direction.
• Drive the strategic direction, architecture, evolution, and scaling principles of the Pluma design system.
• Close the gap between design intent and shipped product, including contributing code when appropriate.
• Design CLI-native flows, API-first onboarding, and interfaces for builder and developer audiences.
• Lead the design of agentic and human-AI product surfaces and develop the company’s AI product design philosophy.
• Partner with product and engineering leadership, lead design reviews, mentor Staff designers, and contribute to hiring and calibration.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product design experience with a portfolio showing design vision and organizational impact.
• Experience shaping company-level design direction and aligning product, engineering, and executive leadership without formal authority.
• Experience designing for developers and builders, including CLI, API-first onboarding, or infrastructure-native products.
• A developed point of view on AI and agentic product design, including shipped AI-native interfaces and interaction models for delegated use.
• Strategic experience contributing to and governing design systems, plus a track record of raising organizational craft standards.
• Executive-level communication skills and depth in complex, data-heavy B2B SaaS products.
