Location: Redmond, Washington, United States; 3 days per week in-office
Salary: USD $119,800β$234,700 per year across the U.S.; USD $160,200β$261,000 per year in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.

Build the Windows App, a unified client for connecting to Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and remote PCs.
What you will do
- Design, implement, test, and ship native Windows client features using modern C++ and C#.
- Integrate application components with Win32, WinRT, COM, Windows services, and operating-system APIs.
- Own scenarios covering resource discovery, connection setup, authentication, OS integration, reliability, and performance.
- Develop secure, scalable components spanning processes, threads, services, client applications, and cloud-backed experiences.
- Diagnose concurrency, memory, networking, latency, reliability, and operating-system issues using debuggers, dumps, traces, logs, and telemetry.
- Collaborate with Windows, Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, identity, security, design, and product teams while mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- Production experience designing, implementing, debugging, and shipping software in modern C++; C# experience is also valuable.
- Experience building native Windows applications, platform components, services, or systems-level software.
- Knowledge of Windows technologies including Win32, WinRT, COM, RPC, Windows services, inter-process communication, and core Windows APIs.
- Experience with networking, authentication, identity, remote desktop, virtualization, or virtual desktop infrastructure technologies.
- Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud and applicable customer or government security screening requirements.
Nice to have
- Master's degree and 6+ years of experience, or bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience.
- Experience with Windows App SDK, WinUI, XAML, WebView2, MSIX, Microsoft Entra ID, MSAL, or Web Account Manager.
- Experience debugging multi-process, multi-threaded, performance-critical native code.
- Experience building secure and accessible enterprise-scale client software with telemetry-driven development and live-site operations.
- Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly.
