Location: Remote work is limited to residents of the USA in CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, NJ, NC, NY, OH, OR, TN, TX, VA, or WA. Hybrid work is available through physical offices in Austin, Texas, and Tampa, Florida. Hiring is not available within Chicago city limits unless the candidate is willing to self-relocate.
Salary: $150,000–$220,000 per year for roles based in California, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey, Washington, or New York.

What you will do
- Design and implement scalable C++ features for endpoint state and control.
- Improve platform performance and support critical functionality across the core product suite.
- Build software that operates reliably across millions of managed endpoints.
- Design and evolve multiprocess architectures, IPC contracts, and local state persistence.
- Write design documents and drive technical decisions with limited supervision.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product designers, and product managers in an agile environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of systems-level C++ engineering experience with C++14 or newer; C++17 is preferred.
- Strong Windows systems programming experience, including Registry APIs, CSP, WMI, MDM bridge, process management, named pipes, IPC, and Windows services.
- Strong macOS systems experience with Endpoint Security, launchd, configuration profiles, or equivalent OS-level APIs.
- Experience with CMake, vcpkg or equivalent C++ build systems, and SQLite or embedded database patterns.
- Ability to design from first principles and work with sparse documentation, undefined requirements, and novel architectural patterns.
Nice to have
- Experience with gRPC or Protocol Buffers for interprocess communication.
- Linux systems experience with eBPF, systemd, kernel modules, or D-Bus.
- Experience building cross-platform C++ agents for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Experience with CIS Benchmark enforcement, endpoint management, MDM, or configuration management tooling.
- Experience with WHQL or driver-signing processes.
