Staff Software Engineer, Enterprise Platform APIs (C#/.NET)

Location: Hybrid work based at one of the listed offices in Roseville, San Francisco, Irvine, Austin, Plano, Lehi, or West Palm Beach, United States

Salary: $155,400–$193,500 per year

What you will do

• Build, maintain, monitor, and scale enterprise platform services across IAM, communications, payments, and API gateways.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and design leads to deliver highly available and fault-tolerant products and services.
• Evaluate technical solutions, weigh tradeoffs, and guide engineering decisions and the platform roadmap.
• Work with product and engineering teams on the overall technical strategy and innovation.
• Mentor and coach team members in technical and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of backend or platform software engineering experience.
• High proficiency in backend platform engineering with C#/.NET or TypeScript/Node.js.
• Experience designing REST and GraphQL APIs, event-driven messaging, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, and token lifecycles.
• Proficiency with agentic coding tools and AI-assisted development, including agent design and evaluation, MCP and tool integration, and prompt and context engineering.
• Knowledge of agile software development and DevOps principles, plus strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• AWS cloud infrastructure, Terraform, and containerized workloads using Kubernetes or ECS.
• Enterprise API gateways such as Kong or Apigee and integrations with third-party payment providers.
• Experience delivering software in regulated environments such as SOC 2 or PCI DSS.
• Experience translating technical tradeoffs for business stakeholders.
