Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in the US; hybrid in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or New York

Salary: $251,000–$275,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Architect, develop, and maintain reliable, reusable backend application components.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and Customer Success to define requirements, technical specifications, and success measures.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs while improving application performance, scalability, and security.
• Implement automated testing and CI/CD pipelines for robust software releases.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and engage directly with the product and its users.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional backend software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript, Node.js, messaging queues such as AWS SQS, and MongoDB.
• Experience with modern web technologies and large-scale data systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and customer-engagement skills.
• Visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are not available.

Nice to have

• Full-stack knowledge.
• Experience with Python, Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
• Familiarity with Airflow, PostgreSQL, or NestJS.
• Experience in AI.
