Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; hybrid options in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. Visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are not available.

Salary: $251,000–$275,000 base compensation, plus potential equity.

What you will do

• Architect, develop, and maintain reliable backend application components.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, Product, and Customer Success to define requirements, technical specifications, and success measures.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs while improving application performance, scalability, and security.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
• Implement automated testing and CI/CD pipelines for reliable software releases.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and engage with customers to understand their needs.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional backend software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript, Node.js, messaging queues such as AWS SQS, and MongoDB.
• Experience with modern web technologies and large-scale data systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience in AI is preferred; full-stack knowledge is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
• Familiarity with Airflow, PostgreSQL, and NestJS.
