PostDoc on Cell-Based Potency Assays for Botulinum Neurotoxins (Biotechnology)

What you will do

• Design and develop innovative cell-based assay formats for the characterization and quality control of botulinum neurotoxins.
• Develop assays using targeted genetic modification of neuronal cells to reflect neurotoxin mechanisms of action.
• Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues in Development Sciences and related groups at the Ludwigshafen site and other global hirify.global locations.
• Contribute to the Bioassay Science and Development team’s functional characterization of biologics.
• Track the technological landscape in potency and binding assays.

Requirements

• PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or a related field.
• At least three years of experience developing cell-based assays that reflect a molecule’s mode of action.
• Practical skills in cell culture and fundamental molecular biology techniques, including plasmid or protein design and generation of stably transfected cells.
• Experience with protein detection methods such as flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, binding assays, protein-protein interaction measurements, and reporter gene assays.
• Strong data analysis and presentation skills, with the ability to defend scientific conclusions in local and global teams.
• Excellent written and oral English and German communication skills are required.
