Molecular Biology Scientist/Senior Associate Scientist (Cell Therapy)

Location: Onsite in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $93,463–$122,670 USD per year, plus performance-based bonus and/or equity for eligible roles.

What you will do

• Design and construct viral vector and helper plasmids for gene overexpression, knockdown, and knockout studies.
• Perform molecular cloning, plasmid preparation, sequence verification, and quality control.
• Generate and characterize engineered mammalian cell lines, including stable expression and single-cell cloning workflows.
• Conduct mammalian cell culture, transient transfection, and small-scale lentiviral vector production under BSL-2 conditions.
• Evaluate vector performance using qPCR/dPCR, ELISA, Western blot, and flow cytometry.
• Analyze and present results, troubleshoot experiments, recommend next steps, and support cross-functional tech transfer activities.

Requirements

• M.S. with 5+ years or Ph.D. with 0–2 years of experience in a related field.
• Hands-on experience with molecular cloning, plasmid preparation, sequence analysis, construct verification, mammalian cell culture, and transient transfection.
• Experience with engineered cell lines, CRISPR/Cas gene editing, and basic screening.
• Experience or exposure to viral vector production, preferably lentiviral vectors, including titering and functional readouts.
• Experience with qPCR/dPCR, flow cytometry, Western blot, ELISA, electronic lab notebooks, sample tracking, and SOP-based documentation.
• United States work authorization is required; employment eligibility will be verified through E-Verify.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of viral vector process development, including upstream or downstream activities.
• Exposure to NGS or Nanopore sequencing for vector or genome characterization.
• Tech transfer or CMC documentation experience.
