Technical Advisor (Defence)

Location: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia; supporting the Armoured Fighting Vehicle Branch in Redbank Plains, QLD

What you will do

• Apply advanced engineering principles and independently solve complex engineering problems under general supervision.
• Represent hirify.global at technical conferences, working groups, and engagements with engineers and government officials.
• Negotiate with stakeholders to resolve critical project issues and support technical direction.
• Provide high-level technical guidance, interpretations, and advice to designers and less-experienced engineers.
• Contribute to the management of measurable assets, including assigned staff or budget oversight.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical or trade background.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally in Defence or similarly complex environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to guide and influence technical teams.
• Eligibility to hold and maintain an AGSVA NV1 or higher security clearance is required.
• Compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is required.
