Technical Safety Engineer (LNG)

What you will do

• Develop design safety philosophies, fire protection specifications, firefighting system data sheets, and active and passive fire protection packages.
• Prepare UFDs, P&IDs, fire zone drawings, hazardous area classification documents, fire and gas detection layouts, equipment layouts, and escape route drawings.
• Perform firewater, foam, gas suppression, and hydraulic demand calculations, including firewater system hydraulic checks.
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, Bowtie, ALARP, and other process hazard reviews, supporting action close-out.
• Coordinate third-party studies such as FERA, dispersion analysis, EERA, ESSA, and QRA, and review vendor documentation for safety and HFE aspects.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and designers to resolve technical safety matters and support safety layout preparation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of HSE Engineering experience in process safety, risk analysis, or loss prevention engineering, including at least 7 years in the hydrocarbon industry.
• LNG facilities design project experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of international and regulatory codes and standards, including DNV, ABS, and NFPA.
• Experience with plot plan reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL classification and verification, SIMOPS, and ALARP studies.
• Working knowledge of PIPENET, Flaresim, DNV PHAST, and other consequence modelling software, plus strong interdisciplinary communication skills.
