Senior Data Visualization Engineer (SATCOM)

Location: El Segundo, California, United States

Basic compensation: $127,000–$158,600 annually in El Segundo, California; $116,000–$144,800 annually in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

What you will do

• Develop interactive dashboards, visual analytics platforms, and automated reporting solutions for SATCOM, network operations, and engineering analysis.
• Transform engineering, telemetry, network performance, operational, and machine learning datasets into actionable visual insights.
• Design visualizations for real-time monitoring, trend analysis, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, and executive reporting.
• Create interfaces that expose model predictions, confidence intervals, explainability metrics, and performance indicators.
• Define visualization requirements and analytic workflows with systems engineers, data scientists, network engineers, software developers, and program leadership.
• Guide data pipeline and visualization architecture decisions, establish standards, and mentor junior engineers and analysts.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance is required for consideration.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a similar technical field.
• At least five years of experience in data visualization, analytics, software engineering, or related technical fields.
• Experience developing dashboards and visual analytics solutions with large, complex operational or engineering datasets.
• Proficiency with one or more of Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, Plotly/Dash, D3, or similar enterprise visualization tools.
• Experience with Python, SQL, data analytics frameworks, cloud or distributed analytics environments, and machine learning concepts.

Nice to have

• Active DoW Secret clearance or higher.
• At least three years of MILSATCOM experience, including AEHF, EPS, PTES, PTS, WGS, or FAB-T terminal programs.
• Experience with military or DoD civilian clients, ground and airborne systems, terminals, and networks.
• Systems engineering certifications such as INCOSE ESEP or CSEP.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Statistical and Machine Learning model integration.
