Roadway CAD Technician

What you will do

• Review roadway, drainage, traffic control, and utility plans, specifications, and engineering calculations to prepare accurate design drawings and contract documents.
• Produce and revise roadway plans, profiles, cross-sections, corridor models, plan sets, exhibits, and technical reports.
• Create and modify alignments, surfaces, corridors, and grading models using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Coordinate roadway designs with survey, drainage, utility, transportation engineering, project management, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare construction plans, erosion control plans, signing and pavement marking layouts, and permitting documentation.
• Perform quality control reviews to ensure drafting accuracy, design consistency, constructability, and compliance with applicable standards.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Training or experience in CAD, drafting, or design technology, including technical coursework, certifications, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with transportation engineering; TxDOT experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, or comparable platforms such as MicroStation or OpenRoads.
• Experience with plan production, drafting standards, and collaboration tools used in municipal or transportation projects.
